Former Indian cricketer Anjum Chopra has identified Alyssa Healy as a prime target for Delhi Capitals at the upcoming Women's Premier League 2026 mega auction. Healy, who captained UP Warriorz in the first two WPL seasons, missed the previous edition due to a foot injury. Delhi did not retain experienced captain Meg Lanning, creating an opportunity to acquire a wicketkeeper-batter of Healy's caliber. Chopra also discussed Sophie Ecclestone, another UP Warriorz player who was not retained, suggesting the franchise might use their Right to Match card for the English spinner. Delhi Capitals have retained five players including Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, and Marizanne Kapp, leaving 13 roster spots and INR 5.7 crore in their purse. Both Healy and Ecclestone are currently playing in the Women's Big Bash League and feature in the marquee set for the auction scheduled in New Delhi on November 27.

Delhi's Interest in Healy and Ecclestone
Speaking on JioHotstar's show 'Most Wanted: TATA WPL 2026 Auction', Chopra emphasized that Alyssa Healy's vast experience makes her difficult to overlook. With Delhi needing a wicketkeeper after releasing Lanning, considerable interest from the franchise is expected. Regarding Sophie Ecclestone, Chopra stated the left-arm spinner is a true match-winner who will command a strong price. While teams like Mumbai and Delhi might not prioritize her, UP Warriorz could deploy their RTM card to reacquire Ecclestone. Delhi could still consider her as a strategic option. Both players currently represent Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers respectively in the ongoing Women's Big Bash League and are part of the marquee set.
