Hombale Films, the production house behind blockbuster movies such as K.G.F., Kantara, and Salaar, is reportedly interested in acquiring a stake in the Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Current owner Diageo India may sell the franchise ahead of IPL 2026. Hombale Films has been RCB's official digital partner since April 2023, creating promotional content and match teasers. Multiple high-profile investors are also reportedly interested in purchasing RCB, including Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, Adani Group, JSW Group, Adar Poonawalla of Serum Institute, and Devyani International. RCB's valuation surged to approximately USD 2 billion after they ended their trophy drought by winning IPL 2025 under captain Rajat Patidar. The potential partnership between a leading Kannada production house and Karnataka's beloved cricket team could significantly boost both brands' popularity.

Partnership Prospects and Growing Franchise Value
Preliminary discussions between Hombale Films and Diageo India have reportedly taken place, though no official confirmation has emerged from either side. Hombale Films already maintains a partnership with RCB as their official digital partner, a role they have held since April 2023. They have produced creative promotional videos, cinematic match teasers, and fan engagement campaigns for the franchise. After winning the IPL 2025 title by defeating Punjab Kings in the final, RCB's valuation jumped to around USD 2 billion (approximately INR 17,000 crore). The franchise, now led by Rajat Patidar as full-time captain, has retained key players including Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Josh Hazlewood, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of the IPL 2026 mega auction.
