The Cricket Association of Bengal has introduced a special gold coin for the toss ceremony of the first Test between India and South Africa in Kolkata. The coin features Mahatma Gandhi on one side and Nelson Mandela on the other, representing peace, freedom and non-violence. Former Indian captain and CAB President Sourav Ganguly confirmed its use. The India-South Africa Test series is called the Freedom Trophy, established to honour the legacies of Gandhi and Mandela. The opening Test begins on November 14 at Eden Gardens. Tickets for the first three days are nearly sold out, with 1.4 crore tickets sold overall. Security has been increased following a recent blast near the Red Fort in New Delhi. The CAB will also host the Jagmohan Dalmiya Memorial Lecture on November 13, with former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar delivering the opening speech.
