2 min read

The International Cricket Council has announced the nominees for the Player of the Month awards for October 2025. Three spin bowlers—Noman Ali from Pakistan, Senuran Muthusamy from South Africa, and Rashid Khan from Afghanistan—are competing for the men's honour. The women's shortlist features standout performers from the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup: Ash Gardner of Australia, Smriti Mandhana of India, and Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa. All three women made the World Cup Team of the Tournament. The men's nominees impressed with match-winning spin performances, while the women dominated with bat and ball during the global tournament. India's Deepti Sharma, despite being named Player of the Tournament at the World Cup, missed the shortlist because her best displays occurred outside October.

Gardner scored 328 runs and took seven wickets, Mandhana compiled 381 runs including centuries, and Wolvaardt led all scorers with 470 runs in eight World Cup matches during October.
