The International Cricket Council has confirmed that the Under-19 Men's World Cup will remain a 50-over tournament, rejecting proposals to shift to the T20 format. This decision emerged from the Chief Executives' Committee meeting held on Wednesday in Dubai. While several Associate Members had advocated for a T20 format similar to the women's event, Full Members preferred retaining the traditional one-day structure. The 19th edition of the tournament is scheduled to take place in Namibia and Zimbabwe next year, continuing the legacy of 18 previous editions all played in the 50-over format. Additionally, the committee discussed matters including player image rights in gaming projects and the World Cricketers' Association's potential involvement. Other topics addressed included the stop-clock rule in Test matches and future revenue opportunities through cricket data monetisation. The Asia Cup trophy controversy involving Pakistan was expected to be raised at the Board meeting on Friday.

The Chief Executives' Committee concluded that the Under-19 World Cup will continue in its traditional one-day format. Despite requests from several Associate Members to adopt a T20 structure matching the women's tournament, Full Members voted to preserve the existing 50-over format. This decision ensures consistency across all previous editions, with the upcoming 19th tournament set for Namibia and Zimbabwe. The ICC also examined other cricketing developments during the meeting, including discussions on Test match regulations and data monetisation strategies. CEO Sanjog Gupta presented future pathways for the sport, emphasising cricket-related data as a significant revenue source. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is expected to address the Asia Cup trophy matter at Friday's Board meeting.
