2 min read

The England and Wales Cricket Board has released its revised Central Contracts list for men's international cricket, recognizing 30 players across three categories. The updated structure includes 14 two-year contracts, 12 annual contracts, and four development contracts. Five cricketers—Sonny Baker, Liam Dawson, Saqib Mahmood, Jamie Overton, and Luke Wood—have received Central Contracts for the first time. Additionally, Eddie Jack, Tom Lawes, and Mitchell Stanley have joined Josh Hull on development contracts. Managing Director Rob Key emphasized that the two-year agreements for multi-format players aim to manage workloads responsibly while ensuring stability. The white-ball specialists have been secured on longer deals to navigate the expanding franchise calendar effectively. The contract system considers both red-ball and white-ball cricket, evaluating players' likelihood of selection and recent performances. This approach supports England's goal of maintaining competitive squads across all formats.
