Historic Win After Resilient Comeback

The Women in Blue displayed exceptional resilience throughout the tournament. After losing three consecutive league matches to South Africa, Australia, and England, they regrouped and defeated New Zealand to secure a semi-final spot. In that semi-final, India successfully chased down a record 339 runs, powered by Jemimah Rodrigues' century and Harmanpreet's 89 off 88 balls. In the final, batting first, Shafali Verma scored an aggressive 87 off 78 balls while Deepti Sharma added 58, helping India post 298/7. South Africa's chase fell short despite captain Laura Wolvaardt's 101. Deepti Sharma's five-wicket haul restricted South Africa to 246, sealing India's victory by 52 runs.
