Questions from Reasoning and Aptitude can be solved through two approaches, a long and detailed method or through shortcuts. The shortcut method will not only save you time but will also give you time to revise your answers before submitting. Candidates often prepare well for Paper-II which consists of questions from their selected subjects but fail to do equal justice to the preparation of Paper-I. We suggest that equal time should be spent in preparing both the papers. Prepare each topic individually through standard study material and practice maximum questions before the exam.

Knowledge of subjects is undoubtedly very important in the preparation of UGC NET, but during this time limit should not be forgotten. You should improve your knowledge bank and your speed and accuracy through practice. Give yourself time while practicing questions and aim to attempt one question within a minute (assuming 150 questions in 3 hours or 180 minutes). Aim to gradually improve the time it takes to solve a problem. Since there is no negative marking in the exam, so aim to attempt 100 percent questions.
