UPSC Result 2020: Jagriti Awasthi of Bhopal has become a role model for girls across the country by securing the second position in the UPSC examination. Awasthi is the topper among women candidates. Awasthi gave the exam by choosing sociology as an optional subject. He completed his B.A in Electrical Engineering from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal. Tech done. Jagriti has secured second rank in UPSC by studying at home during the Corona period. He left the BHEL job and prepared for IAS to become an IAS. He gave the first attempt in 2019.
Ankita Jain stood third. A total of 761 candidates have qualified in the examination of which 545 are male and 216 are female and the commission has recommended their names for various civil services.
UPSC conducts civil services examinations every year in three phases which include preliminary examination, main examination and interview. Through these examinations, candidates are selected for various other services including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS).
The Civil Services Preliminary Examination, 2020 was held on October 4 last year. The statement said that 10,40,060 candidates had applied for the examination, out of which 4,82,770 appeared for the examination. 10,564 candidates qualified for the main exam which was held in January 2021. It was told in the statement that out of these 2053 candidates were shortlisted for the interview.
Out of 761 candidates, 25 persons are handicapped. Of the successful candidates, 263 are from the general category, 86 from the Economically Backward Classes (EWS), 220 from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 122 from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and 61 from the Scheduled Tribes. A total of 150 candidates have been placed in the reserve list. The result of the exam will be available on the UPSC website. “The marks will be available on the website within 15 days from the date of declaration of result,” the commission said.
