Success Story Of IAS Topper Anand Vardhan: The most important condition for achieving success is not to give in to failures. It happens many times that success does not come easily, but only those who continue their efforts without getting distracted by failures get success. Similar is the story of Anand Vardhan, who secured All India Rank 7 in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2016. Anand failed many times in UPSC, but he did not give up and fulfilled his dream in the fourth attempt.
UPSC’s idea came during the job
Originally from Siwan district of Bihar, Anand Vardhan was always smart in studies. He studied up to Intermediate in his hometown, after which he came to Delhi for engineering. After completing his engineering degree, he got a job. During the job, he decided to prepare for UPSC. The family also supported him in this decision. In this way his UPSC journey started.
Failed in pre-exam thrice
Anand started preparing for UPSC with a job. Even in the first three attempts, he could not clear the civil services pre-examination. However, he corrected his mistakes and made a better fourth attempt. This time he not only passed the exam but also got into the top 10 list.

Anand’s advice to other candidates
Anand Vardhan believes that for the preparation of UPSC, you can also take the help of internet in today’s era. If you want to join coaching then you can do it, but you have to do self-study in any case. After completing your syllabus, revise as many as possible. Instead of getting disappointed when you fail, rectify your shortcomings. If you keep all these things in mind, then you can achieve success.
