Today we will tell you the story of IAS officer Abhishek Surana, who left a good job and business abroad and came to India. He thought of doing something for his country and started preparing for UPSC. Abhishek got success here in the fourth attempt.
Engineering from IIT Delhi
Abhishek Surana did his intermediate education from Bhilwara, Rajasthan. After this he cleared the entrance of IIT and got an engineering degree from IIT Delhi. After that he got a good job abroad. After working for a few years, he went to another country and did business. However, after some time he did not feel like doing business and he came back to India. Here he started preparing for UPSC.
Such was the journey of UPSC
Abhishek Surana failed in the first 2 attempts in UPSC, but he did not get discouraged and kept working hard. In the third attempt, he passed the examination but his rank came to 250. According to this rank, he did not get the IAS service. Eventually he made up his mind to make another attempt and in 2017 secured All India Rank 10 in his fourth attempt. In this way his dream of becoming an IAS was fulfilled.

Abhishek’s advice to other candidates
Abhishek Surana believes that first of all you should focus on UPSC pre exam. Once you clear the free exam, then make a detailed strategy for mains and work hard. According to him, strategy also plays an important role in UPSC. Abhishek says that we should prepare with limited books and revise again and again. The more we practice revision and answer writing, the more we will benefit in the paper.
