Even after Corona, universities will be able to run online and distance courses, UGC is making rules flexible

New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) is setting more flexible rules for various central and other universities. Under this, regular universities will be allowed to run online courses even after Corona. Not only this, many regular universities will be able to offer important courses through distance learning.

UGC has decided to start 123 different online courses. Through this decision of the UGC, out of a total of 123 online courses, 40 programs for post graduate students and 83 programs for undergraduate students have been decided. Students from across the country can take advantage of these courses being offered by UGC. Students will have to apply for these courses through the ‘Swayam’ online platform. Emphasis on making courses available on digital platform
UGC Chairman Professor DP Singh on use of technology in education says that many initiatives have been taken by UGC to make courses available on digital platform. Initiatives have been taken. Professor Singh spoke about Swayam, Swayam Prabha, NAD and other digital platforms. He said that as part of the initiative of UGC, it has brought learners into the mainstream of online education.

‘SWAYAM’ course will be tested 
UGC also says that SWAYAM’s courses offered through online medium will also be tested. According to the UGC, the Vice Chancellors of various universities will have to ensure that the process of these examinations is started by the end of August. National Testing Agency will conduct these examinations at various examination centers across the country. This exam will be conducted for various non-technical UG and PG courses of January-April 2021 semester.

Regional languages ​​will be promoted
In addition, the University Grants Commission (UGC) will promote regional languages. The commission will committee the language compulsion by allowing technical courses in various regional languages. For this, many important steps have been taken by the UGC.
