Karan met Shah Rukh during an award show held at the studios, where their make-up rooms were opposite each other. He called Shah Rukh his hero and felt both happy and intimidated to meet him. Although their interaction was brief, the moment was special for Karan. He also recalled sharing a dance with Shah Rukh at a Diwali party. Karan began his career with a small role in Yash Raj Films' Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, starring Shah Rukh Khan.
