Boney Kapoor filed a case in Madras High Court on 25 Aug 2025. He said three people are wrongly claiming the property of his late wife, actress Sridevi, in Chennai. Sridevi bought the farmhouse on East Coast Road in 1988. The claimants say they are heirs through a second marriage in the Mudaliar family. Kapoor said this marriage is illegal because the first wife was alive until 1999. He asked the court to cancel the legal heirship certificate given to them. The court asked the Tambaram Taluk Tahsildar to decide within four weeks. The property is used by Sridevi’s family as a farmhouse. Kapoor and Sridevi married in 1996. Sridevi died in 2018. Their daughters Janhvi and Khushi are actors in Bollywood. (Updated 26 Aug 2025, 21:31 IST; source: link)
