Veteran actor Mumtaz has expressed her grief over Dharmendra's passing and shared her disappointment at being unable to meet him during his final days in hospital. She revealed that when she attempted to visit him, hospital staff informed her that he was on a ventilator and visitors were not permitted. Mumtaz waited for 30 minutes hoping for a chance to see him but eventually left without meeting her old friend and co-star. Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24 at age 89, had worked with Mumtaz on several memorable films during the 1960s and 1970s. His wife Hema Malini recently posted an emotional tribute describing him as a loving husband, father, friend, and guide. The legendary actor was cremated in Mumbai with family members and industry colleagues in attendance.

Hospital Visit and Film Collaborations

Mumtaz shared in an interview with ETimes that she last met Dharmendra in 2021 at his residence. When she learned of his hospitalisation, she went to the hospital hoping to see him one final time. However, staff informed her he was on a ventilator and no visitors were allowed. She waited for 30 minutes but could not meet him. Mumtaz also expressed sympathy for Hema Malini, describing her as devoted and deeply in love with Dharmendra. The two actors collaborated on several notable films including Kaajal (1965), Aadmi Aur Insaan (1969), Mere Humdam Mere Dost (1968), Jheel Ke Us Paar (1973), and the popular film Loafer.
