The horror-comedy film Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, has collected ₹126.82 crore at the Indian box office by its 17th day. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the movie opened on 21 October during Diwali with a strong start of ₹24 crore. It is the fifth film in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, following Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya. The story features Ayushmann as a meek journalist who transforms into a vampire and falls in love with Rashmika's character, creating a twisted love story. The cast also includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. While the film earned ₹108.4 crore in its first week, collections have slowed down in the third week. Trade experts expect it to cross the ₹130 crore mark soon. The next instalment in the horror-comedy universe, Shakti Shalini starring Aneet Padda, has already been announced.

On its 17th day, Thamma earned approximately ₹0.87 crore, bringing the total domestic collection to ₹126.82 crore according to early trade estimates. The film had a remarkable opening of ₹24 crore on Diwali and collected ₹108.4 crore during its first week. However, the third week witnessed a noticeable slowdown in collections. Despite this decline, industry analysts predict the film will soon cross the ₹130 crore milestone in India. The next film in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, Shakti Shalini, will feature newcomer Aneet Padda and be directed by Amar Kaushik. Ayushmann Khurrana publicly welcomed Padda to the franchise on social media, expressing pride in the Punjabi representation.
