The horror-comedy film Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, continues its theatrical run but has slowed down in its third week. Released on 21 October during the Diwali season, the movie is the fifth entry in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, joining earlier hits like Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya. The story follows a timid journalist who transforms into a vampire and falls for Rashmika's character, creating a bloody love story filled with unexpected turns. The film also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal in key roles. On its 17th day, Thamma earned approximately 0.87 crore rupees, pushing its total domestic collection to 126.82 crore rupees. The film opened strongly with 24 crore rupees on its first day and accumulated 108.4 crore rupees in its opening week. Industry watchers expect it to cross the 130 crore rupees milestone soon.

Upcoming Projects in the Horror-Comedy Universe

Following the release of Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and Thamma, the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is expanding with a new project titled Shakti Shalini. The film will feature Saiyaara actor Aneet Padda in a leading role and will be directed by Amar Kaushik. Ayushmann Khurrana recently welcomed Aneet to the franchise through a social media post, praising the actor and expressing pride in seeing another performer from Punjab join the universe. Aneet responded with gratitude, calling Ayushmann's encouragement extra special. The announcement has generated excitement among fans eager to see how the franchise continues to grow with fresh faces and stories within the established horror-comedy world.
