Organisers Defend Madhuri’s Punctuality and Event Format

Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit's recent live event in Toronto faced heavy online criticism from attendees who felt misled about the nature of the show. Many fans complained on social media that the actor arrived nearly three hours late and that the event was advertised as a concert but turned out to be a talk show. The organisers have since issued a clarification, stating that Madhuri arrived on time and the confusion arose from miscommunication by a local promoter. National Promoter Atique Sheikh explained that the event was always planned as a Fan Meet and Greet with a fireside chat, not a concert. Despite the controversy, Madhuri has not directly addressed the backlash. She thanked Toronto fans and announced upcoming tour dates across the United States, including stops in New Jersey, Boston, Chicago, Houston, and New York.

Following the backlash, National Promoter Atique Sheikh clarified that Madhuri was punctual and professional. She arrived at 9:30 PM for her scheduled appearance and went on stage between 9:45 PM and 10:00 PM as planned. Sheikh explained that the event held on November 2 at Toronto's Great Canadian Casino Resort was never intended to be a concert. It was designed as a Fan Meet and Greet featuring a fireside chat and interactive session. Indian Idol performers Shivangi Sharma and Tanmay Chaturvedi entertained audiences from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM beforehand. Madhuri also attended a Meet and Greet session at 5:30 PM. The organisers blamed miscommunication by a local promoter for wrongly informing fans it was a concert.
