Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi held a press conference on Wednesday alleging irregularities in the Haryana elections. He claimed a Brazilian model's photograph appeared 22 times across different polling booths under various names like Seema, Sweety, and Saraswati, calling it a centralised operation to manipulate the 2024 Haryana assembly election results. Following this, confused social media users mistakenly identified the woman as Larissa Bonesi, a Brazilian model and rumoured girlfriend of filmmaker Aryan Khan. Indians flooded her Instagram posts with comments congratulating her on newfound fame and expressing support for Rahul Gandhi. However, another Brazilian model named Larissa Nery claimed to be the actual woman whose photograph Gandhi displayed. Despite clarifications from some fans, Bonesi's account continues receiving hundreds of comments with Gandhi's pictures and messages. She has not responded to the confusion.

Social Media Mix-Up Targets Wrong Brazilian Model
After Rahul Gandhi's press conference, Indian social media users mistakenly targeted Larissa Bonesi instead of the actual woman involved. Her recent Instagram posts were flooded with hundreds of comments featuring Rahul Gandhi's pictures and GIFs. One popular comment with nearly 200 likes read "You are famous in India." Others jokingly referred to her as a "BJP voter from Brazil" and congratulated her on "Indian citizenship." Bonesi has not addressed these comments. Meanwhile, another Brazilian model, Larissa Nery, posted screenshots and a video claiming she is the woman whose photograph Gandhi showed. Despite clarifications from Bonesi's fans, confused users continue targeting the more popular namesake. Bonesi, a 31-year-old model and actor, has worked in India for over a decade in films and has been linked to Aryan Khan.
