Why Actors Have Affairs on Set, According to Farah Khan

2 min read

Choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan recently shared her thoughts on acting and on-set dynamics during an appearance on the chat show Two Much, hosted by Twinkle Khanna and Kajol. She recalled her 2012 acting debut in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, a film produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali where she starred opposite Boman Irani. Farah candidly admitted she did not enjoy acting, finding the long waiting periods on set boring and frustrating. With her characteristic humour, she revealed why she believes actors sometimes have affairs during film shoots. The show also featured a lively debate on relationships, with guests including Ananya Panday discussing whether older or younger people are better at hiding affairs. Earlier, another viral segment featured Janhvi Kapoor and Karan Johar debating physical versus emotional infidelity. Farah's honest reflections offer a rare glimpse into the less glamorous side of being on a film set.

Why Actors Have Affairs on Set, According to Farah Khan

Farah Khan explained that she found acting incredibly tedious, primarily because of the endless waiting between takes. She stated she hated the experience, saying actors just have to sit and wait for long hours. With her typical wit, Farah joked that this boredom is precisely why people end up having affairs on film sets. She told co-star Boman Irani that she now understood the reason behind on-set romances, attributing them to sheer boredom rather than passion. Despite working with Boman and having Sanjay Leela Bhansali's support, Farah concluded that acting was not for her. She made it clear that she prefers the creative control and fast pace of directing and choreography over the slow, passive nature of acting.
