2 min read

The controversy surrounding reality show Bigg Boss 19 has moved beyond the television screen into legal territory. Farrhana Bhatt's family has taken formal action against Amaal Mallik's aunt, Roshan Garry Bhinder, after she made defamatory comments about Farrhana during a public interview. The family issued a legal notice demanding immediate removal of the offensive video, a public apology, and compensation of Rs 1 crore for reputational and emotional damages. Roshan had called Farrhana a "terrorist" and compared her to a demon in an interview with Fifafooz YouTube channel in October. Both Farrhana and Amaal are currently contestants on the Salman Khan-hosted show, which premiered on 24 August with eighteen housemates. The legal notice was also sent to the YouTube channel, YouTube India, and copies were forwarded to the National Commission of Women and Maharashtra State Women's Commission.

Legal Notice Over Defamatory Remarks

On Wednesday, Farrhana's family publicly confirmed on social media that they had sent a legal notice to Roshan Garry Bhinder, Amaal Mallik's aunt. The family expressed deep distress over remarks made during a public interview where Roshan called Farrhana a "terrorist" and compared her to a demon who laughs after drinking people's blood. The formal notice was also addressed to Fifafooz YouTube channel and YouTube India. The family stated they chose legal recourse with dignity rather than engaging in online mudslinging. They are demanding the immediate removal of the defamatory video, a public apology, and Rs 1 crore in damages. Copies were forwarded to the National Commission of Women and Maharashtra State Women's Commission for further action.
