The Prithvi Festival 2025 kicked off with a star-studded opening night at the famous Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai on Sunday. The event brought together prominent Bollywood personalities including Saif Ali Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Neena Gupta, Divya Dutta, and Zahaan Kapoor. Pictures from the celebration showed Naseeruddin Shah and Neena Gupta dancing together, while Zahaan Kapoor, who serves as a trustee of Prithvi Theatre, was seen conversing with guests, including his brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan. The Kapoor family joined other theatre enthusiasts for this annual celebration. The festival, running until November 17, is themed around celebrating stories, stage, and community. It features new plays, film screenings, musical performances, and workshops conducted by industry veterans like Naseeruddin Shah. The event takes place across Prithvi Theatre and Prithvi House.

The caption described the evening as a celebration of connection and theatre's timeless charm. Many film industry members expressed regret at missing the event. Actress Dia Mirza commented that she missed being with everyone, while Lillette Dubey mentioned missing the celebration due to her own show opening the same day. Other actors including Rasika Duggal, Shreya Dhanwathary, Aahana Kumra, and Vrajesh Hirjee also shared their appreciation for the festivities. The annual performing arts festival is held at the beginning of winter and showcases an amalgamation of various performing arts forms for theatre enthusiasts.
