Actor Vijay addressed members of his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party in his first public speech following the September stampede in Karur that claimed 41 lives. Breaking his silence, he expressed confidence about the 2026 elections and dismissed ongoing political narratives as meaningless. The stampede occurred on September 27 during a TVK rally, leaving around 60 people injured. Vijay announced financial assistance of ₹20 lakh to families of the deceased and ₹2 lakh to the injured on September 28. He met the victims' families for the first time on October 27 at a resort in Mamallapuram. During his speech, Vijay emphasized that struggles are temporary and criticized what he called malicious rumours spread during the mourning period. The party's Karur District Secretary, who was arrested and released on bail, described the incident as a conspiracy.

In his address, Vijay repeated words from his last public meeting in Karur, stating that with nature, God, and their people supporting them, nobody could stop their journey. He described the struggles as temporary and urged members to remain confident about winning the 2026 elections. Vijay expressed deep pain over losing party members and criticized meaningless political narratives circulated after the stampede. He accused opponents of spreading malicious rumours during the mourning period to destroy law and truth. The actor pledged to stand firmly on the side of law and dispel falsehoods. Karur District Secretary Mathiazhagan, arrested and later released on bail, called the September 27 stampede a conspiracy and unimaginable tragedy.
