Actor Celina Jaitly has approached the Delhi High Court seeking help to bring back her brother, Major (Retired) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, who has been detained in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, since September 6, 2024. Justice Sachin Datta heard the petition filed through advocate Raghav Kacker and issued notice to the Ministry of External Affairs. The court has appointed a nodal officer to coordinate communication between the family and UAE authorities. Vikrant, who retired from the armed forces in 2016, was running a cybersecurity firm in Dubai with his wife. He was allegedly detained from the parking lot of Emirates Mall in Abu Dhabi under unclear circumstances. Despite attempts to contact the consulate, Celina received no response initially. The court has now asked the government to submit a status report before the next hearing scheduled for December 4. Celina has expressed faith in the Indian government and judiciary to bring her brother home safely.

Court Directs Government to Appoint Nodal Officer for Assistance
