Adivi Sesh's bilingual action film Dacoit, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, has been delayed and will now release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Ugadi. Originally scheduled for December 2025, the postponement came after Sesh sustained an injury that prevented him from completing heavy action sequences for several months. The new release date puts Dacoit in direct competition with Kannada superstar Yash's highly anticipated pan-India film Toxic, which also arrives the same day. Despite the so-called box office clash, Sesh remains unfazed, emphasizing that quality films always find their audience. Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit also features Anurag Kashyap and Prakash Raj. The film is being shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu to ensure cultural authenticity in both languages. Sesh, who has built a career as an underdog, welcomes the challenge and believes the festive weekend combining Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, and Eid offers the perfect moment for the film's release.

Why Dacoit's Release Date Was Pushed to March 2026
Dacoit was initially set for a December 25, 2025 release but faced delays after Adivi Sesh injured himself during production. The injury prevented him from completing the remaining heavy-duty action scenes for approximately two to three months. Sesh acknowledged he is still healing and recovering. The actor mentioned that his films typically take around two years to complete, and this delay was an unavoidable setback. The new release date of March 19, 2026, was chosen to align with Ugadi, the Telugu New Year, and the festive weekend that also includes Gudi Padwa and Eid, making it an ideal time for a major release despite the extended production timeline.
