Actor Adivi Sesh has addressed the box office clash between his upcoming film Dacoit and Kannada superstar Yash's Toxic, both scheduled for March 19, 2026. The bilingual action film, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, was originally planned for December 2025 but was delayed due to an injury Sesh sustained during shooting. The film will now release during Ugadi, the Telugu New Year, which coincides with Gudi Padwa and Eid. Despite the competition with one of the most anticipated films in recent times, Sesh remains unfazed. He emphasizes that quality films find their audience regardless of release date clashes, citing examples like Lagaan and Gadar, which both succeeded despite releasing together. Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit also features Anurag Kashyap and Prakash Raj, while Toxic is helmed by Geetu Mohandas and stars an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, and Tovino Thomas.

Release Date Clash Does Not Worry Sesh
Sesh downplays concerns about Dacoit clashing with Toxic at the box office. He recalls that Lagaan and Gadar both became classics despite releasing on the same day, and his own film Major performed well against Samrat Prithviraj. The actor believes that if a film is good, it will find its audience. With Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, and Eid falling on the same weekend, he views it as a moment of celebration rather than concern. Acknowledging that Toxic is highly anticipated after Yash's four-year hiatus since KGF, Sesh embraces his underdog position. He compares his situation to KGF Chapter 1, which succeeded against Shah Rukh Khan's Zero in 2018, noting that his entire career has been built on surprising audiences.
