Elections were held in Khagaria district on November 6, 2025, covering four assembly constituencies. Voting began at 7:00 AM and continued until 6:00 PM. By 3:00 PM, the district recorded a turnout of 59.40 percent. A total of 11.66 lakh voters were eligible to cast their ballots across 1,372 polling stations set up throughout the district. The four constituencies participating in this phase were Aloli, Khagaria, Beldaur, and Parbatta. Each constituency showed varying levels of voter participation during the day. Khagaria constituency recorded the highest turnout at 59.40 percent, followed by Aloli at 58.00 percent. The total number of registered voters in the district stood at 11.66 lakh. This figure included 6.16 lakh male voters, 5.50 lakh female voters, and 17 voters from other categories. On November 4, final appointment letters were distributed to polling personnel who would manage the voting process. This gave staff adequate time to prepare and reach their assigned locations. The following day, November 5, witnessed the distribution of Electronic Voting Machines and other essential polling materials. This distribution took place at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee compound in Khagaria town. All polling teams collected their assigned EVMs, control units, ballot units, and other necessary supplies from this central location. The same venue has been designated as the counting center where votes will be tallied on November 14, 2025. This centralized approach helped maintain better control over sensitive election materials and ensured proper chain of custody. The Agricultural Produce Market Committee premises provided sufficient space and security infrastructure for both distribution and counting activities. Officials maintained detailed records of material distribution to ensure accountability throughout the election process.
Security Measures and Cash Seizures During Elections
Extensive security arrangements were implemented to ensure peaceful and fair polling across Khagaria district. The administration established 16 checkpoints at strategic locations to monitor movement and prevent any illegal activities. 12 flying squads were deployed to conduct mobile surveillance and respond quickly to any reported incidents. Additionally, 48 static surveillance teams were stationed at fixed locations to maintain continuous watch over sensitive areas. The district assigned 153 sector magistrates to oversee polling operations in their respective areas and handle any disputes or complaints. Higher-level supervision was provided by 17 zonal officers, 4 super zonal officers, and 4 senior officials who coordinated law and order maintenance. These officials had the authority to take immediate action if any irregularities were detected. As part of efforts to curb illegal inducements, authorities seized cash amounting to Rs 47.94 lakh during the pre-election period. This seizure demonstrated active enforcement of election code of conduct.
