Police in Faridabad district arrested a young man for blackmailing and assaulting a woman using fake obscene photographs. The accused met the victim on the messaging platform Telegram and later created fake explicit images by editing her photos. He threatened to make these images public unless she met him. When the woman refused, he intensified his threats. Eventually, he called her to a hotel under the pretence of deleting the photos and sexually assaulted her there. Following her complaint, Kotwali police registered a case and arrested the accused. He was presented before the court and sent to jail. The accused, originally from Katihar in Bihar, currently resides in Chhatarpur, Delhi. The incident occurred on 1 November, and police acted swiftly on the complaint filed by the victim, who lives in the NIT area of Faridabad.

Arrest Made After Blackmail and Assault Complaint
Police spokesperson Yashpal confirmed that a young woman from the NIT area reported the crime. She explained that she met a man on Telegram some time ago, and they began communicating regularly on the platform. The accused created fake obscene photographs using her pictures and started blackmailing her to meet him. When she refused, he threatened to spread the images online. He lured her to a hotel on 1 November under the false promise of deleting the photos. At the hotel, he showed her the fake images and sexually assaulted her. The accused, identified as Ranvir alias Sahil Malik (26), hails from Katihar, Bihar, and now lives in Chhatarpur, Delhi. After registering her complaint, Kotwali police arrested him and sent him to jail following a court appearance.
