A meeting of the Magahi Magadh Nagarik Sangh was held on Wednesday in Nawada district, where members demanded constitutional recognition for the Magahi language. The organisation's national president, Paras Kumar Singh, stated that candidates who speak about Magahi identity in the upcoming assembly elections will succeed in the Magadh region. The Sangh has been campaigning for several years to include Magahi in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. Singh appealed to voters across five Lok Sabha and 26 assembly constituencies in the Magadh division to support only those candidates who back this cause. The organisation has also written to all registered political parties requesting them to include this demand in their election manifestos. Members present at the meeting pledged to spread awareness about this issue in their respective areas.

National president Paras Kumar Singh urged all Magahi-speaking people in the Magadh division to raise this issue with candidates from every political party. He emphasised that granting constitutional status to Magahi is a burning issue alongside other regional concerns. Singh made it clear that voters should cast their ballots only for those candidates who support this demand. The Sangh had earlier written letters to all registered political parties, requesting them to include this matter in their election manifestos. District committee president Gautam Kumar Sargam, spokesperson Ravinder Singh, secretary Nitish Kapoor, advisor Dr Bhagwat Prasad, and several other members attended the meeting and pledged to promote this cause in their areas.
