Traffic Diversions and Route Changes Across City

2 min read

Patna witnessed massive crowds at the river ghats on Kartik Purnima as devotees gathered for holy dips and prayers in the Ganges. The influx of worshippers caused severe traffic congestion on routes leading to the ghats, with vehicles crawling at slow speeds throughout the day. City traffic authorities implemented multiple diversions and restrictions to manage the crowd. Several roads, especially those near the ghat areas, were closed for specific vehicle categories. Commercial vehicles faced entry bans in key zones, while alternative routes were designated to ease movement. Traffic police altered normal circulation patterns, redirecting buses, autos, and commercial vehicles through different roads. Vehicles heading towards Gandhi Maidan from Gaighat were rerouted via Exhibition Road, Rajendra Nagar Bridge, and Bahadurpur. The changes remained in effect to ensure smooth passage for devotees while maintaining order in the congested riverside areas.

Traffic Diversions and Route Changes Across City

Commercial vehicles approaching Gaighat from Agamkuan ROB were directed to stop at NMCH, then proceed via Dhunki More and Biskoman roundabout. Those coming from Biskoman towards Gaighat could only reach up to Danka Imli Chowk. Autos and commercial vehicles operating below Gaighat bridge were rerouted through Agamkuan ROB underpass, Biskoman roundabout, Dhunki More, and the old bypass to reach Gandhi Maidan. Vehicles heading to Gaighat and Ashok Rajpath from Gandhi Maidan were diverted through Exhibition Road, Rajendra Nagar Bridge, Bahadurpur Gumti, and the bypass towards Agamkuan. Entry restrictions remained in place near all major ghat areas to prevent further congestion during the religious occasion.
