On Kartik Purnima, thousands of devotees gathered at the banks of the Panchane River in Nalanda district to take holy dips. From early morning, the riverbanks echoed with chants of 'Har-Har Gange' as families from nearby areas participated in the sacred ritual. People of all ages—women, men, children, and elderly—followed traditional customs by bathing in the holy waters at sunrise. After bathing, many performed prayers, havan ceremonies, and mundan rituals on the ghats. However, this year the traditional fair at Kosuk could not be organized due to the Bihar Assembly elections. The administration deployed police, volunteers, health teams, and SDRF personnel to manage the large crowds safely. According to religious beliefs, bathing on Kartik Purnima washes away sins and brings immense blessings. This day is also celebrated as Dev Deepawali and Tripuri Purnima, marking Lord Shiva's victory over the demon Tripurasura.

Religious Significance and Traditional Celebrations
Kartik Purnima holds great spiritual importance in Hindu scriptures. Astrologer Pappu Pandey explained that this day is also known as Dev Deepawali and Tripuri Purnima. Ancient texts describe how Lord Shiva killed the demon Tripurasura on this day, freeing gods from fear. To celebrate, gods lit lamps, beginning the tradition of Dev Deepawali. Pandit Purendra Upadhyay shared that bathing in sacred waters on this day destroys all sins and grants endless merit. According to the Hindu calendar, acts of charity, bathing, and lighting lamps on Kartik Purnima yield hundred times more spiritual rewards than on other days.
