A 35-year-old woman identified as Soni Devi, wife of Munna Ram from Farna village, died by suicide in the Badhara police station area of Bhojpur district. Her body was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan inside her home. The incident occurred after she returned from her maternal home in Kutupur village, Sariwan (Chapra) district. On the day of the tragedy, Soni had fallen near the stairs on Monday and was advised to get bandaged after initial treatment. This reportedly angered her, and she left for her maternal home, returning approximately two hours later. When her family was working in the fields, she hanged herself in the empty house. Her daughter Anushka discovered the body and informed the family. Despite being rushed to Ara Sadar Hospital, doctors declared her dead. Police are investigating the case, though the exact reason for her extreme step remains unclear.

According to Soni Devi's father-in-law, she had fallen near the staircase on Monday and received initial medical care. When family members suggested proper bandaging, she became upset and left for her maternal home in Kutupur village under Doriganj police station in Sariwan district. She returned after about two hours, and her in-laws went to work in the fields, leaving the house empty. During this time, she took the fatal step. Her daughter Anushka found her and alerted the family. Soni married in 2014 and is survived by three daughters—Aradhya, Khushi, Anushka—and one son, Akash. The family remains devastated by the sudden loss, and police continue their investigation.
