Saralnama9 blocks of Bhojpur district participated in a one-day workshop on at Sadar Hospital, Ara to review and create a dossier for the Kala-azar Control Program. Medical officers from Kala-azar affected blocks since 2018, CHOs, and vector control staff attended. Dr. N.K. Sinha, Additional Director, said no Kala-azar cases were reported in 2025 so far, but vigilance is needed. The workshop discussed strategies to eliminate Kala-azar and make the district Kala-azar free. Dr. Rajesh Pandey from WHO trained participants on program progress, reporting, and document preparation. In 2024, Bhojpur reported 2 Kala-azar cases – 1 each in Bihiya and Ara.
