On 28 August 2025, during the 12th day of his Voter Adhikar Yatra, Rahul Gandhi visited the Mata Janaki temple in Punauradham, Sitamarhi. He performed aarti and was honored with a garland and chunari by the temple priests. Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and VIP chief Mukesh Sahani accompanied him. Due to a terror alert, Gandhi changed his travel plans and avoided several scheduled stops, traveling in a closed vehicle. The planned roadshow in Motihari was cancelled. Gandhi spoke about protecting voter rights and criticized the ruling party for alleged vote theft. The visit highlighted opposition unity ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. Security was increased in the region, and police offered a ₹50,000 reward for information on suspected terrorists.
