Yellow Alert for Rain in 12 Bihar Districts; Ganga Water Level Rises

Bihar's monsoon has weakened with no rain in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Centre issued a yellow alert for rain and strong winds up to 40 km/h in 12 districts on 27 Aug 2025. Northern Bihar may see light rain and thunderstorms. Ganga river water levels are rising in Munger, Buxar, and Ara, causing flooding and erosion. Hundreds of homes are submerged in the Diara area, and a two-storey school collapsed into the river in Ara's Jawainia village. Temperatures in Patna are 1-2°C above normal, causing discomfort. Light rain is expected in Patna for the next two days, but heavy rain is unlikely. The monsoon may strengthen in early September, bringing more rain to the state. People should stay alert in flood-affected areas. (Updated 28 Aug 2025, 05:22 IST; source: link)
