Bihar's Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar and Hilsa MLA Krishna Murari were attacked by villagers in Malawa village, Nalanda district on 27 Aug 2025. They had come to meet families of nine people who died in a road accident on 23 Aug. After meeting the families, villagers became angry over delayed compensation and attacked the minister, MLA, and a local journalist with sticks. The minister and MLA ran about one kilometre to escape. Several people, including the minister's bodyguard, were injured. Police arrived and increased security in the area to control the situation.
