New Delhi | October 8, 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered immediate enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Bihar as election preparations begin.
Over 824 flying squads have been deployed to monitor violations and act on complaints within 100 minutes. A 24×7 complaint helpline (1950) and the C-Vigil app are now active for public reporting.
The ECI has banned misuse of government vehicles, advertisements, and official staff for campaigning. Ministers have also been directed not to mix official duties with electioneering.
All public venues like maidans and helipads will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis via the SUVIDHA module on ECINET.
Officials have been instructed to maintain law and order, act impartially, and ensure equal opportunity for all political parties.
