Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, a new 2D side-scrolling action platformer developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Dotemu, will launch on July 31, 2025, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game features Kenji Mozu, a young ninja trained by Ryu Hayabusa, who becomes possessed by the spirit Kumori from the rival Black Spider clan. Players navigate levels filled with enemies requiring strategic combat using sword strikes and throwable kunai, with special glowing enemies enabling powerful attacks. The game includes challenging boss fights, an Assist Mode for difficulty adjustment, pixel art environments, hidden collectibles, and a soundtrack blending heavy guitar, synth, and drums. Guest composers from the original NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy contributed to the music, alongside Sergio de Prado, known for Blasphemous. Ragebound is part of a resurgence of the Ninja Gaiden series, which will see three new titles by the end of 2025, including two 3D games. The game is available now for pre-order and will have a demo during Steam Next Fest in June 2025. (Updated 23 Aug 2025, 20:24 IST; source: link)
