ChatGPT will soon let users shop and pay within the app using UPI. NPCI, Razorpay, and OpenAI are testing this feature called Agentic Payments. Users can order groceries from BigBasket by simply telling the AI what they need. ChatGPT will search, compare prices, and complete the payment through Razorpay's UPI gateway. Axis Bank and Airtel Payments Bank are the first to support this system. The pilot starts with BigBasket for grocery orders. If successful, travel bookings, bill payments, and food delivery may follow. The feature is currently in testing with limited access. More banks and e-commerce platforms are expected to join later.
