SaralnamaOn 29 Aug 2025, actor Sadia Khateeb shared her experience shooting her new film Silaa in Kashmir. Despite recent heavy rains causing floods and landslides, the film shoot in Gulmarg and Dal Lake continues with safety measures. Sadia, from Bhaderwah in Jammu and Kashmir, says filming in Kashmir feels like a homecoming and she enjoys working in her home state. She recalls her debut film Shikara (2020) was also shot here. Sadia appreciates Kashmir’s beauty and hospitality, dismissing fears after the Pahalgam attack in April, saying one incident does not represent the whole region. The team is adapting to weather challenges by shooting other scenes while Shikara rides are paused. Silaa is directed by Omung Kumar and also filmed in Vietnam’s Son Doong Cave.
