Prithvi Shaw made a strong start for Maharashtra by scoring 111 runs against Chhattisgarh in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament held in Chennai on 19 Aug 2025. This was his first match after moving from Mumbai. Shaw showed his usual aggressive batting style and followed it with a 66-run innings against TNCA President’s XI. Maharashtra chief selector Akshay Darekar said Shaw’s batting was never a problem and praised his focus on fitness. Shaw aims to help Maharashtra reach the Ranji Trophy knockouts this season. He had a tough 2024, falling out of favour with Mumbai and going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. His good form now signals a fresh start and a chance to rebuild his career.
