Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra spoke about comparisons between their film Param Sundari and the 2013 movie Chennai Express. Fans saw similarities because both films show a North-South love story. Sidharth called Chennai Express a great film and said he takes the comparison as a compliment. Janhvi said her character is half-Tamilian and half-Malayali, unlike Deepika Padukone’s Tamilian role in Chennai Express. She added that not all South Indian cultures are the same and the films are different. Janhvi also mentioned that movies like 2 States had similar themes but are not released often.
