Ravichandran Ashwin Retires from IPL After 16 Years

On 27 Aug 2025, Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ashwin played 221 IPL matches over 16 years, taking 187 wickets and scoring 833 runs. He last played for Chennai Super Kings in the 2025 season. Ashwin thanked all the IPL teams and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the memories. He retired from international cricket in December 2024 and said he will now explore cricket leagues worldwide. Ashwin was a key player in IPL and helped Chennai Super Kings win titles in 2010 and 2011.
