Ashish Vidyarthi won the National Film Award for his role in Drohkaal. After winning, director Govind Nihalani asked him to throw a party at Mainland China restaurant. Ashish was worried because he had no money and was supporting his parents. He feared the police might be called if he could not pay. A friend went with him and helped arrange the party. Ashish drank water with lime and ate vegetarian food to keep costs low. He later learned Govind Nihalani was paying the bill. Even after winning the award, Ashish worked in many films to support his family. He recently appeared in the web series The Traitors and shares food videos on social media.
