Ravichandran Ashwin retired from the Indian Premier League on 27 Aug 2025. The 38-year-old off-spinner ended his 15-year IPL career after playing 221 matches and taking 187 wickets. Ashwin started with Chennai Super Kings in 2009 and played for several teams, including Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. His last season was with Chennai Super Kings, where he took seven wickets in nine matches. Ashwin thanked the IPL, BCCI, and all franchises for their support. He said he will now explore playing in other cricket leagues worldwide. Ashwin retired from international cricket in 2024 but will continue his cricket journey in global leagues.
