On 26 Aug 2025, Treyarch announced that skins and weapons from Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will not carry over to Black Ops 7. This change aims to keep Black Ops 7 authentic and true to the game’s original style. However, Double XP tokens and GobbleGums from Black Ops 6 will still be available in Black Ops 7. The developers said they listened to player feedback about the previous game’s unusual skins, like Beavis and Butt-Head, which some players felt made the game look less serious. Black Ops 7 will focus on a more immersive and grounded experience. The new game will launch in November 2025 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Skins from Black Ops 6 will still work in Warzone, the battle royale mode. (Updated 26 Aug 2025, 23:56 IST; source: link)
