Cheteshwar Pujara retired from all forms of Indian cricket on 24 Aug 2025. He played 103 Test matches and scored 7,195 runs with 19 centuries. Pujara was a key player in India's historic 2018-19 Test series win in Australia. Virat Kohli thanked him for making his job easier in the middle order. Together, they scored 3,513 runs in 83 innings with seven century partnerships. Pujara last played for India in the 2023 World Test Championship final. He said he felt grateful for the opportunities cricket gave him and decided it was the right time to retire. Pujara also scored over 21,000 runs in first-class cricket with 66 centuries.
