Mumbai Police has announced enhanced security measures for the 10-day Ganesh festival starting August 27, 2025, deploying over 17,000 personnel including 14,430 constables, 2,637 officers, 51 ACPs, and 36 DCPs. For the first time, AI technology will be used to monitor criminals and suspicious individuals, complemented by drone surveillance at major locations. Support will come from State Reserve Police Force platoons, Rapid Action Force, riot control teams, Delta combat units, and Home Guards, along with thousands of volunteers. More than 11,000 CCTV cameras are installed citywide, with plainclothes officers and quick response teams on standby. Special security arrangements include over 500 police personnel, dog squads, and Bomb Detection & Disposal Squads at Lalbaugcha Raja. On the final immersion day, an additional 5,000 personnel will manage crowds, with special focus on women, children, and senior citizens.
