Vijay Sethupathi's film Thalaivan Thalaivii has been a commercial success at the Indian box office, earning approximately 58.76 crore net against a 25 crore budget, resulting in a 135.04% return on investment and a hit verdict. In comparison, his earlier film Maharaja, made on a 20 crore budget, earned 71.3 crore net with a 256.5% return, securing a super hit verdict. Despite mixed reviews, Thalaivan Thalaivii crossed the 50 crore net milestone and is among the notable post-COVID successes for the actor. Maharaja remains more profitable in terms of ROI and total net collection. Thalaivan Thalaivii also stands close to becoming the sixth highest-grossing Kollywood film of 2025, with a gross domestic collection of around 69 crores including GST. Both films highlight Vijay Sethupathi's strong box office presence in recent years. Further updates on his future projects are awaited. (Updated 25 Aug 2025, 14:42 IST; source: link)
