India's left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh, who was included in the Test squad for the England series, did not play in any of the five matches despite his county cricket experience with Kent. Punjab bowling coach Gagandeep Singh revealed that Arshdeep grew impatient due to lack of opportunities but suggested the team management, including coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill, may have lacked confidence in him. Gagandeep advised Arshdeep to improve his swing, accuracy, and variety, including yorkers and bouncers. Arshdeep has been India's leading wicket-taker in T20 internationals with 99 wickets in 63 innings. He is expected to feature in the Asia Cup 2025, starting September 10 against the UAE, alongside bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshit Rana and all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Despite his absence from the Test XI, Arshdeep remains a key player in shorter formats and continues to work on his skills for future opportunities. (Updated 25 Aug 2025, 13:12 IST; source: link)
